OUR MISSION
Hearty Meals for All aims to meet a community need by providing wholesome meals that incorporate fresh produce, lean meats, and fresh dairy products. We use local ingredients whenever possible and all meals are homemade, largely using rescued food.
OUR MEALS
Meals are served in a warm welcoming atmosphere where individuals and families can enjoy their food, socialize and have a good time. In addition to delicious food, meals often include live music, SNAP registration and other outreach efforts, and more. Many guests come every single month, and the connections we build together strengthen throughout the year. For guest and volunteer testimonials, click here.
OUR HISTORY
Hearty Meals For All was founded in 2009 by Rebecca Gallo and Emily Bullen, and achieved non-profit status in 2012 (EIN: 46-1084248). Since our founding, the focus of Hearty Meals has been to turn community support into community outreach in the form of healthy, locally-sourced meals served in our own neighborhood – an effort that continues today.
OUR TEAM
Hearty Meals For All is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, with the leadership of two paid positions for our Program Coordinator and Chef. For board and staff bios, click here.
OUR LOCATION
We are grateful to have our meal prep and dinner space generously donated by the Somerville Community Baptist Church located in Davis Square at 31 College Ave, Somerville, Massachusetts. (Hearty Meals For All is a secular program that is not affiliated with any religious organization.)
